Fort Walton Beach Hosts First Junior Tournament of the Fall

Fort Walton Beach Tennis Center welcomed junior players from across the region last weekend for a competitive tournament featuring Boys 14 and Girls 16 divisions. The event marked the first tournament under the leadership of new Director of Tennis Kara Borromeo and Tournaments and Special Events Coordinator Zephyr Brokaw, who joined the facility just a few days prior.

In the Boys 14 division, John B. Skinner III from Santa Rosa Beach took the top spot with a perfect 4–0 match record and an 8–1 set record. Robert Kennedy of Ocean Springs, Mississippi finished second, followed by Zakhar Zakharchenko from Panama City in third.

The Girls 16 division featured three round-robin groups. Group winners Isabella Lin, Katrina Lin, and Katerina Roberts, all hailing from Niceville advanced to the final rounds. In the championship match, Katerina Roberts defeated Isabella Lin 5–3, 4–0 to claim the title.

The tournament ran smoothly and showcased the center’s commitment to junior tennis development. Kara and Zephyr’s leadership brought fresh energy and organization to the event, earning positive feedback from players, parents, and coaches.

Fort Walton Beach Tennis Center continues to grow as a hub for youth tennis in the Panhandle, and this tournament was a strong start for the new team. To stay updated on the next junior tournament, visit fwbtenniscenter.com/junior.
